first_imgAlpla to construct new $21m packaging factory in OhioPosted By: News Deskon: May 29, 2018In: Beverage, Business, Food, Industries, Manufacturing, PackagingPrintEmailAustrian packaging manufacturer Alpla has announced that it will invest $21 million to construct a new manufacturing plant in Dayton, Ohio, as the company looks to expand its operations in the US.Alpla says the new facility will increase the production capacity of rigid plastic packaging for its growing US client base in the consumer goods market.The new 154,000 square-foot plant will be located adjacent to the Dayton International airport, and the company estimates that the new facility should be fully operational by April 2019.Philipp Lehner, regional manager of Alpla’s North American operations said: “We are quite pleased to join the Dayton business community, and look forward to working with local leaders as we build our team and optimally develop plans for growth in the area.”Alpla currently operates 176 manufacturing facilities in 45 countries, and recently expanded its US production capabilities with the purchase of a bottle manufacturing site in Wisconsin from Gehl Foods last year.The company also strengthened its position in the packaging sector with a string of acquisitions last year, including the purchase of South African packaging company Boxmore Packaging and the acquisition of Italian plastic bottle producer Propack.Share with your network: Tags: AlplamanufacturingpackagingUSlast_img read more
