Kyle Cass, 15:22.81 Just a day after lowering her career best in the 60-meter hurdles preliminary heats, Mary Young (Urbandale, Iowa) lowered it again by turning in a time of 8.43 in the finals of the event to finish eighth behind hurdlers from Texas, Kentucky and UNLV. Also on the track, Rai Ahmed-Green (Irvine, Calif.) lowered her personal best in the indoor 200 meters with a 22nd place time of 25.04 while Mykaela Cole (Urbandale, Iowa) finished 14th in the 3,000 meters with the fastest time of her career in 10:26.42. 200 Meters22. Joshua Yeager, 8:28.15 Saturday’s field competitors included Johnathan Osifuye (Woodbury, Minn.) finishing seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 47-5.57 while Taryn Rolle (Nassau, The Bahamas) was 10 in the women’s triple jump at 39-9.75. The school record came via Reed Fischer (Minnetonka, Minn.) turning in a time of 8:04.98 in the 3,000 meters to finish fourth at the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind. In addition to shattering the Drake school record in the event, his time ranks as the second fastest in the Missouri Valley Conference this season and one of the top 30 times in the nation. The previous record was set in 2000 by Matt Gabrielson with a time of 8:06.44. 600 Meters15. Danielle Griesbaum, 1:37.08 The men’s team got a near half minute personal best from Josh Yeager (Center Point, Iowa) in the 3,000 meters at the Husker Invitational with a 15th-place time of 8:28.15. Freshman Xavier Lechleitner (Edgar, Wis.) also clocked a personal best in finishing 19th in the 800 meters. Mile 20.
