Ocean Runaway heads Los Al trials

first_img After 3 consecutive losses this year in which he was second, including a runner-up spot in the grade 1 All-American Derby at Ruidoso, Ocean Runaway returned to Los Alamitos, where he won a division of the PCQHRA Breeders Derby qualifying trials and then won the grade 2 final. He will compete in the third division tonight, with Hector Cuevas riding for trainer Dennis Ekins. Gulfstream Five, second to Ocean Runaway in the PCQHRA, also is entered in the third heat.
